Christmas Wonderland 2006

An evening of wonder returns...
Our third annual Christmas Wonderland festival welcomed
more than two thousand people for a celebration of Christ's birth.
Once again the evening of music and Christmas themed activities was
offered as our free gift to the
community.
There were Christmas lights everywhere, family sleighbell hayrides, cookies, free Whoville cotton candy featuring the
Grinch, polar bear snow cones, holiday musicians and carolers, pony rides,
a live nativity and petting zoo, the elves' workshop
with Mr. and Mrs. Claus, kids cookie decorating
area, Christmas puppet shows, a roller racer rink, free hotdogs, a tunnel of lighted
trees, inflatable bounce castle and slide, s'mores, hot cocoa, hot apple cider and a lighted miniature village
with falling
"snow!" New this year was the Narnia exhibit, featuring a
forest of falling snow (complete with lamppost) and free Turkish Delight
from a very real looking Mr. Tumnus the faun!
Many thanks to the over 100 Sarasota Christian Church
volunteers who made the event possible by sharing their time, resources
and love with our neighbors! (Thanks also to the Fruitville and
Clark Road Chick-Fil-A restaurants, Clark Road Dairy Queen, Snappy Turtle Trading Co.,
the Sarasota Holiday Parade and others for assistance with publicity and to
Lake
Aurora Christian Camp for the roller racers.)
