Our History
Sarasota Christian Church was formed in January, 1973 with the
desire to become a congregation that would minister to people in every stage of
life.
The church initially met at a restaurant appropriately named "The
King's Table," and later met for worship at the Youth for
Christ Teen Center on the corner of Swift and Ashton Roads.
Soon the present site of 9.7
wooded acres on Ashton Road was purchased and the original worship and
fellowship hall buildings were constructed.

Our church family kept growing, and in April of 2001 the Lord
helped us complete a new worship center with seating for 400 people and expanded
classroom and office space, a blessing we are excited to share with the
community.

SCC continues to be known for its friendliness, commitment to
community involvement, and ministry to people of all ages as we seek to share
the grace of Jesus Christ with Sarasota.
